The AL West Anaheim Angels:

The Anaheim Angels started their Major League Baseball career in 1961, known then as the Los Angeles Angels. From 1965-1996 they were known as the California Angels and finally in 1997 were known as The Anaheim Angels.
The Angels first game was played at Wrigley Field in Los Angeles. Wrigley Field opened in 1925, the Angels first game there was April 27, 1961. This stadium had a seating capacity of about 20,400. Two hundred forty eight home runs were hit in this stadium in one season. The Angels only played at this stadium for one year before relocating to Dodger Stadium in 1962. This stadium has a seating capacity of approximately 56,000. It sits on 300 acres of land and the surface consists of Santa Ana Bermuda grass. This stadium cost about $23 million to build. It is known to be the cleanest ballpark in Major League Baseball. The Angels shared this stadium with the LA Dodgers until 1966 when the Angels moved once more to Edison International Field of Anaheim. Construction began August 31, 1964 on Edison International Field of Anaheim. This 30 year old building was being completely restored for the Angels. The cost was $24 million in 1966 and another $118 million was spent once more from 1997-1999. The seating capacity at this stadium started out at around 43,000 when first opened and rose to approximately 45,000 by the year 1998. The surface is made up of Bluegrass. The Angels officially changed the name of the stadium to Angel Stadium of Anaheim in 2003.

On October 27, 2002; the Angels won their first World Series Championship. Playing against the San Francisco Giants, the Angels won the 7th game 4-1 giving them 4 out of 7 games and taking home the title.
