The AL West Seattle Mariners:

The Seattle Mariners made their Major League Baseball debut in 1977. They started out playing in The Kingdome from 1977-1999. The Kingdome was also the home of the Seattle Seahawks (NFL). Cost to build the stadium was about $67 million. Another $70 million was spent in 1994 on roof repairs after four tiles fell to the ground. Its surface was made up of Astroturf. Seating capacity for baseball was approximately 59,000. In 1999, the Mariners relocated to their new home, SAFECO Field. This new stadium features a retractable roof and natural grass field, creating an outdoors feeling. Seating capacity is approximately 46,600 for baseball. The stadium cost in the neighborhood of $517.6 million to build. SAFECO Field features a play area for children, a lovely picnic area, a baseball museum, a team store and more.
