The NFC North Chicago Bears:

The Chicago Bears were originally called the Decatur Staleys. The Staleys were sponsored by the Staley Starch Company and founded by George Halas, one of the founders of pro football. The Decatur Staleys became the Chicago Staleys in 1921 and called Wrigley Field their home. The team goes on to win their first title that year, the APFA title with an overall record of 9-1-1. In January of 1922 the franchise is renamed the Chicago Bears. The Bears were one of the most successful teams and participated in unprecedented acts. They were the first team to buy a player from another franchise and also the first to play an indoor game. The Bears earned 1 Super Bowl Title, 19 Division Titles and 8 NFL Titles.

George Halas held the reigns as head coach for nearly 40 years (except during wartime when he served in the U.S. Navy) retiring before the 1968 season. He was also known to serve in many other capacities for the franchise such as, player, general manager, and owner.

The Bears played at Wrigley Field (home of baseballs Chicago Cubs) for their first 51 seasons. In December of 1970 the Bears played the Green Bay Packers in their final game at Wrigley Field before moving to Soldier Field. The Bears hold the record for the most games played in the home stadium in NFL history with an impressive 332 games played at Wrigley Field. Soldier Field was originally constructed as a memorial to America’s soldiers and originally named Municipal Grant Park Stadium. It was renamed Soldier Field and properly dedicated on November 11th, 1925. Soldier Field has a seating capacity of 66, 950.
